Healing Humans Explained Simply

Healing Humans is a therapy system for people with long-lasting complaints. This page explains in simple words what the procedure comprises and what studies have shown about it so far.

1. What It Is About

Healing Humans was developed by Alexander Eichmeier, for therapists, alternative practitioners and doctors. The procedure is based on an assumption: complaints persist as long as the space between the cells is disturbed. This space is called the extracellular matrix. Nutrients, messenger substances and degradation products pass through it. A treatment that only addresses the symptom comes too late according to this assumption.

Work takes place in four areas, together called the Triforce of Health. The first area is biomechanics: posture, fascia and movement patterns. The second is mindset, that is, psychoemotional beliefs. The third covers lifestyle and self-regulation: sleep, light, nutrition and cold, referred to in the system as biohacking. The fourth area comprises frequency applications. The main focus of application is chronic and degenerative conditions.

For the procedure itself there are user and case reports, but no controlled study in humans. A controlled study compares a treated group with a group without this treatment. Such comparisons are absent here.

2. What Studies Show

The individual components of the procedure are best studied, not the procedure as a whole.

Lifestyle: In the FINGER study, researchers followed 1259 people aged 60 to 77 years for two years with a multi-domain programme. Up to seven years later, fewer of them developed frailty, that is, physical weakness with increased fall risk 4. This work examines a lifestyle programme and not Healing Humans.

Frequency and magnetic field applications: A review summarised nine randomised controlled trials with 420 participants on nonspecific low back pain. In five of these studies, pain and physical function decreased 7. In diabetic neuropathy, treated individuals reported markedly less pain than the comparison group 5. In a shoulder condition, subacromial impingement syndrome, pulsed magnetic field therapy was superior to sham treatment in most measured points in 80 participants 6. A sham treatment looks like the real application but delivers no effective stimulus.

Exercise: In a study on knee osteoarthritis, both groups, with and without magnetic field, improved in pain and function up to the follow-up at six months 3.

Ongoing projects: Several large programmes are currently examining whether multiple areas can be combined. MET-FINGER follows 600 participants at three sites 1, AU-ARROW 600 participants aged 55 to 79 years 2. Results on overall benefit are still pending there.

Important: All these studies examine individual components. They do not show whether Healing Humans as a whole is effective.

3. What Remains Unclear

For Healing Humans as an overall procedure there is no controlled examination in humans. Consequently the central assumption has not been tested: that the state of the space between the cells determines the course of the complaints. None of the available studies measures this state in treated individuals.

Whether the four areas together achieve more than each on its own has likewise not been examined. From studies that test several things simultaneously it is not possible to determine which part was effective.

Publicly recorded experience reports on Healing Humans are not available. Therefore no pattern can be drawn regarding treatment duration, changes, adverse events or contradictory courses. A systematic recording of these data is still pending.

4. What This Means in Everyday Practice

The situation can be summarised as follows: the components of the procedure have been partly studied, the procedure as a whole has not. Anyone interested can ask what an assertion is based on and whether there is a comparison with an untreated group.

The open question could be clarified with a randomised controlled study. Participants would be randomly assigned to treatment or usual care or a waiting list. People with chronic or degenerative complaints would take part. The state of the space between the cells, pain, physical function, quality of life and adverse events would have to be measured. Observation should last at least six months and include a later follow-up. In addition, a study that tests the four areas individually and in combination would be useful.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the extracellular matrix?

This is the space between the cells. Nutrients, signalling molecules and breakdown products pass through it. Healing Humans assumes that complaints persist as long as this space is disturbed.

Are there studies on Healing Humans?

There is no controlled study on humans for the procedure as a whole. Individual components such as lifestyle programmes and magnetic field applications have been investigated. Whether the overall procedure works is therefore still open.

What does a sham treatment mean?

In a sham treatment, participants receive an application that looks like the real one but does not deliver an effective stimulus. This makes it possible to check whether an observed effect really comes from the treatment.
