Disclaimer and terms of use
Who these pages are written for. The content of ih-research.com is written for healthcare professionals. It summarises published research and puts it in context. The children's pages explain the same subjects for children aged 8 to 12; they are meant for children together with parents and teachers.
Not medical advice. This website makes no diagnosis, gives no treatment recommendation and does not replace medical or therapeutic care. Studies are group data; judging the individual case is for the treating practitioner. If you have a health complaint, please see a doctor or another qualified professional. Do not start, change or stop a treatment on the strength of these pages alone.
No promise of cure. We describe what was studied and how well the result holds up. Every statement carries its tier: proven, plausible or hypothesis. A statement about a study is no assurance that a substance or a method will work in an individual case. We recommend no products, no dosages and no suppliers.
How the content is made. Specialised systems, including artificial intelligence, sift the literature; assessment and checking are editorial work. Answers in the research tool are written by an artificial intelligence from the papers listed with them. Such summaries can contain errors. The linked original paper is always what counts.
Accuracy and currency. We work with care and keep our pages up to date. Research moves on, and we cannot guarantee that everything here is complete, correct and current. Every page states its date.
Liability. We are liable for damage arising from the use of this website only in cases of intent and gross negligence. This does not affect liability for death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Links to other websites. Our pages lead to original papers, journals and databases. Their providers are responsible for that content. When we set the links we saw no breach of law; if we learn of one, we remove the link.
Copyright. The texts, graphics, audio and images on this website are protected by copyright. Quoting with the source and a link is welcome. Any further use, above all copying whole pages and commercial use, needs our written consent. Rights in the studies we cite remain with their authors and publishers.
Governing law. The law of England and Wales applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where a consumer lives are not affected.
